wistful memories of weekends past

this one was particularly pleasant. watched 2 movies friday night (gotta love Guzzo for sneaking into movies...).
Night of the Living Dead 3D was a-ight. Mind you, I love zombie fliks. if you don't, stay away from this one. it has ZERO cross-demographic appeal, unless 20 seconds of boobie exposure does it for you. it's very documentary like and "real" in a way. i enjoyed it.
The Departed was another sensational Scorcese piece of work. thoroughly enjoyable, and a nice change from the generic pace of most hollywood movies these days. DiCaprio basically played a young DeNiro, right down to the mannerisms. He's charismatic enough that I really don't care. Matt Stupid was actually perfect for his role, and Jack...ah, Jack. You will be missed if and when you finally retire.

Yesterday involved a John Wayne movie in the morning (rainy fall sunday mornings REQUIRE john wayne movies) and an afternoon stroll through the market, fighting the dread of having to be fucking HERE as of today and for the next five days...
