what do you mean, "has started to...", Al? Cripes, man, when most entertainment projects involve mega-budgets and approval by fucking commitees, what do you expect to happen?
you know kevin smith's story about how the production committee wanted a giant fucking robot spider to be added to smith's superman script? how that same committee went on to produce Wild Wild West, a masterful piece of celluloid history?

all we gotta do is keep watching flicks like Blood of Heroes and reading books like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas over and over again. it's our only chance!

my resentment is more directed to the legions of fanfic/slashfic writers who feel angered and betrayed because their favorite character is not doing something perfect.
We do have the power to avoid the entertainment by committee, we don't spend money on it and watch it on TBS and then refuse to buy any of the products advertised during commercial breaks.
It's the sense of entitlement from the whiny fans in parents basements that is starting to irk me.
