simple pleasures

like for instance, the 2 foot wide path made up of fallen leaves about 1 foot thick that runs parallel to the concrete walkway from my parking lot to office door.

i get to park my car and trudge through the swishing dried leaves before entering this place of doom and damnation...

:)

i ain't being sarcastic, yo. i really really like scrunching through leaves, and am even willing to embrace the ever-so-present risk of swooshing through a big pile of leaves and hitting the wet sludgy leaves lurking within every once in a while. THAT's how much i like it!

yes, THAT good...

wow. regardless of which team you tend to pull for (you make me cry, Chicago), you should pause to consider that you're probably witnessing one of the greatest teams to ever play the sport at the moment, if not THE greatest.

boxing is supposed to be judged on effective aggressiveness; i.e, your successful (or not) ability to impose your will and methods on your opponent while as a consequence inhibiting his ability to do the same.

well, this is very much the case with the New England Patriots at the moment. They do what they choose, and it is up to their opponents to scramble and attempt to figure out what, if anything, they can respond with.

my personal belief is that this current team and coaching/training system is the pinnacle of the sport.

can't wait for next sunday.

not in the mood

for very much at all today...

jail? they'll NEVER catch me, boss!

no plans tonight as of yet. looking for something innocuous yet entertaining to do.
As for the weekend, it will probably be the last outdoor golf for the season, sadly.

Oh, and Sunday we head over to our favourite suburbanites’ home to catch up on an awful lot of time…

I feel fat, and sassy.

that was

awesome awesome awesome!
what a great weekend. i don't know why, but i always experience an icredible sense of pleasure when i'm up before the sun, driving down a dark and deserted highway, about to pick someone up so we can go do something really really fun...

dunno why. all i do know is that it was very very entertaining. oh, and the laughs!
stumbling into my cousin's cottage, wet and tired, waiting for the wood stove to heat up the room, telling stories, it's worth its weight in gold it is.

till next weekend!

well then, i've an idea

the very loud typists (their one handed prowess is quite amazing, really) can be easily ignored.

the opinions of the outraged are often misdirected. blow 'em a kiss and walk on by , al. it's how i tend to deal with most of the subhuman contact i'm subjected with on a regular basis.

i figure they'll die in piles of their own excrement soon enough anyway...

to Alan re:You Know

what do you mean, "has started to...", Al? Cripes, man, when most entertainment projects involve mega-budgets and approval by fucking commitees, what do you expect to happen?

you know kevin smith's story about how the production committee wanted a giant fucking robot spider to be added to smith's superman script? how that same committee went on to produce Wild Wild West, a masterful piece of celluloid history?

*sigh*

all we gotta do is keep watching flicks like Blood of Heroes and reading books like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas over and over again. it's our only chance!

apologies?

haven't been in the blogging mood lately.

you know that new book i'm writing? the one with (maybe) zombies in it? yeah, it began really well, i have good energy and inspiration, and Lo! i found my backup copy of the original novel i was writing, which i thought was lost forever, and seeing as i'm much further along on that one, i'm gonna make a decision soon as to which i'll work on next...

i'm really glad i found that old one, apart from the old wounds it's sure to pick at, cuz i really did put a lot into it, and i'd like to see how it ends. well, considering the first paragraph is the ending, it's more like i want to see what happens in between.

on a very important side note or two, the bears absolutely ROCKED my football world sunday. very very very satisfying to watch, and i'm more or less sated now. new zealand joined italy in the world of "let's allow france to break our hearts again". i'm the President Most Beloved of that world, by the by.

ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

we shall see what, if anything, comes of this drive.
